Frogs

Jodi Rowley and Chris Portway from the Australian Museum are the frog experts on the ACT Bush Blitz.

The ACT is home to about 15 species of frog, including the abundant Eastern Banjo Frog and Spotted Marsh Frog, and the highly threatened Northern Corroboree Frog.

  • Learn how you can identify your local frogs without even seeing them!
  • Find out about FrogID, Australia’s first national frog count, and how you can take part.

In the field lab: Meet Jodi and Chris, quiz them about your local frogs and learn how to recognise frogs from their calls.

Out in the field: 11am, 12pm and 2pm. Take a walk with Jodi or Chris to listen for the frogs that call the Gardens home and practise your frog ID. Places will be limited. Bookings are essential and will be taken from 10am on the day. If you are interested in joining a walk, we recommend you get the FrogID app on your phone before you come.
